The problem
Teachers spend days marking, and the marks then sit in a register that nobody reads for patterns. A section can fall 12% in Science and nobody notices until the next exam. Parents get a number, not an explanation.
What we did
- Scripts are numbered in pencil and scanned on an ordinary document-feeder scanner. No special answer sheets.
- The AI reads one answer region at a time and returns a mark and a reason in a fixed format. It never writes to the register by itself.
- The teacher confirms every mark. Uncertain answers are pushed to the top of the pile.
- The results turn into a class-by-subject view, teaching groups, common mistakes and parent cards in Tamil.

By 5 August 2026, 2,537 script rows were scanned, 2,087 sheets were matched to a student, and 1,446 evaluations were loaded for teachers to confirm.
